Classroom Assistant and Before and After School Care

Ruza was born in Serbia, former Yugoslavia, and came to Canada in 1992. She worked for the Canadian Forces Language School at the Canadian Forces Base in Kingston for 4 years as a language teacher, and after that worked for the same school for a further year developing students’ exercise books. Ruza then worked as a supply teacher at Something Special Day Care in Kingston for four years before becoming a nanny for five children whilst raising her own teenagers and pursuing her love for art by working as an artisan painting on silk.

After her children grew up, she joined Kings Town School to run the before-and-after school club, and in September 2011 she began working full-time as a classroom assistant whilst still running the before-and-after school club.

Ruza has a great appreciation for art and music, and she loves spending her free time with her family and friends.
