Tuition and Financial Support
Understanding Our Tuition Fees
King's Town School is an independent school. Unlike Public or Catholic School Boards which receive tax dollars to fully fund their programming, Public Universities and Colleges where tuitions are heavily subsidized by tax dollars, or denominational schools which often receive substantial financial support from religious organizations or religiously motivated donors, King's Town School's primary source of revenue is tuition.
Parents who choose a King's Town education for their children continue to pay taxes that are funnelled to publicly funded school Boards. But, KTS parents make a choice they feel is in the best interest of their children; whether it be to have their children in a smaller class, to challenge their children more academically, to be part of an active community, or to experience more of the arts. Sometimes this choice comes with financial demands. At King's Town School, we respect the choices parents make for the education of their children and their financial circumstances. We do our utmost to provide an exceptional education for our students and a positive work environment for our teachers and staff in a fiscally responsible manner.
As a not-for-profit, charitable corporation, our only other source of funding is the generous, tax-deductible donations of donors in our community. As a small community, our donors are often generous parents of students who attend our school.

It has been the tradition at KTS that families requiring financial assistance to meet tuition requirements have occasionally been assisted. Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are kept in strict confidence.
King's Town School continuously endeavours to be an inclusive community. By working with generous donors and sponsors in the Greater Kingston Community and beyond, we offer a bursary program for families. Please drop by the Main Office to pick up a bursary application package.
