Students in grades seven and eight partcipate in the KTS humanities program. It aims to help students to develop key research and inquiry skills through the study of world history and geography, linking to Canadian content whenever possible. Students frame their studies in the humanities with expansive questions such as, "How do humans relate to each other, to the environment, and to ideas?" Students are also given opportunities to delve into historical and geographic topics of their own choice in challenge assignments, independent work meant to direct students toward exciting new learning. In preparing students to write essays, conduct independent research, and analyze data, KTS ensures its graduates are more than ready for secondary school.
