Kindergarten

King's Town School offers a unique setting for students in Junior and Senior Kindergarten. During the regular school day, children are involved in many different kinds of activities designed to help young learners explore, discover and grow. They will have opportunities to initiate learning and play, as well as take part in more structured play-based learning under the guidance of a teacher.

The teacher is guided by the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum document, and due to our small class sizes opportunities exist to extend the Ministry curriculum to address areas of student interest and strength.

Through play-based learning and small group instruction, children develop a strong foundation for learning in all areas, including language and math, engage in healthy physical activities and the arts, and develop socially and emotionally through interaction with their peers and the educators who guide them.

Kindergarten students are involved in all areas of the KTS Academic Program. They begin French, Physical Education and Music in Junior Kindergarten. Students are involved in both the Winter Cafe and Spring Concerts, and Choir hosted throughout the year. Being part of the team begins in Junior Kindergarten and all students in Junior and Senior Kindergarten are placed in one the King's Town School Houses for their duration at the school.

*Junior and Senior Kindergarten are a new addition for the 2014-2015 school year.
