Testimonials
“KTS is my favourite school. I find the teachers really love and care about the subjects they teach and really try and involve every student as an individual human being, not just some kid. It’s a community where people can be themselves without being judged. There isn’t any bullying or special groups, everyone is involved! Instead of waking up on a snowy morning and immediately checking if we get a snow day, you’re hoping the roads are clear so you can get to school to see your friends. As well as having very good academics, the arts are excellent. It’s not only the kids who are good at art that look forward to it, even people who would normally hate drawing and sculpture look forward to Art every week… We’re all friends here…It’s just fun! When I go to school every day I’m not going into a class where I hear some teacher drone on about who knows what, I’m going to a place where we’re learning together.”

“We’ve been delighted with how easily and happily our daughter has settled into her Montessori class. She loves receiving her individual lessons and is delighted to show us her creations each day.
Whilst her academic progress is pleasing, seeing her confidence soar and her self esteem grow has been wonderful – Thank you.
I would also like to mention that we’ve personally felt very welcomed and included from the outset.”

“I am glad to have been given the opportunity to provide a testimonial for King’s Town School. Our family has been involved with the school for almost 3 years. It was our school of choice for our daughter to go to Grade 8 in Sept. 2007 after having been homeschooled up until that point. And what a GREAT choice it was.
For a small school, we are amazed at how much opportunity the children are given. The emphasis on sports and outdoor pursuits is what really drew us to King’s Town. The other thing that is palpable at the school is how much the teachers care about the kids. And yes, they have very high academic standards but that wasn’t really our reason for choosing this school.
Our daughter soared at King’s Town and was given opportunities to succeed and to stumble with support and encouragement. She enjoyed the setting, the projects, the extracurricular activities and the teachers VERY much. She was extremely well prepared for both the social and academic aspects of high school and we sincerely thank King’s Town for this.
Because of the backpacking and white water canoeing trips that took place during her Grade 8 year, she has significantly enhanced her interest in outdoor pursuits. It was outstanding to have this chance in a safe, group setting where she could develop skills and have a blast at the same time. Andrew Schleger has developed an excellent outdoor education program that we hope will continue to expand so that more kids will enjoy more opportunities.
We would say that the most pleasant surprise was what the music program at King’s Town has done for our daughter. She was encouraged to play the French Horn and found she enjoyed it very much. She chose music at high school, was selected for both the junior and senior bands and now calls all her music friends her close friends. Music has opened up a whole new world for her and we owe our sincere appreciation to Scott Milligan for this!
Our son has been at King’s Town for Grades 6 and 7 and will finish up with Grade 8 next year (fall 2010). He is thoroughly enjoying opportunities for leadership development and has thrived at King’s Town for all the same reasons listed above.
Finally, thank you to all the teachers, staff and to the administrator, Denise, for creating a family focused environment that is welcoming and absolutely top notch!”
